Split Pea Rice Soup

Ham bone with some meat on it
2 carrots
1 med size parsnips
1 bag split peas (rinsed clean)
Cooked rice

Cook Ham bone till meat falls away from bone. Drain and keep the liquid. Cut meat into chucks. Peel carrots and parsnips, slice carrots, cut parsnips in large pieces so that you can remove later.

Add water to cover all. Gently boil till peas are soft.

Add cooked rice to your liking.
